According to Tim, Adam was a revelation, taking a 1st, a 2nd and a 4th in his heats even without the pace of eventual winner John Boyd. He went straight into the lead in the final, only to have the brakes put on after a first lap crash further down the field caused a red flag.
After the restart Adam was second going into the first hairpin, but was punted sending him way back down the field. A determined drive brought him back up to 5th behind Benjy Russell and Michael Simpson but he was fast enough for 2nd, or even a win, without the red flag.
Sam was fired badly by another driver in one of his heats and also struggled for pace, but from 18th on the grid for the first final came through to 9th by the flag to give himself a much better chance for the grand final. Unfortunately after the restart another kart went over the top of Sam and flipped, ending his Kartmasters challenge.
