Brian was quick in the wet and on Friday morning on a dusty track, but slipped down to 11th in timed practice despite being only half a second off the pace.

In each heat he went one better, finishing seventh, sixth and fifth, and starting fifth in the Prefinal climbed to fourth before a mistake put him down to 11th. Brian’s speed and long experience enabled him to recover and come back up to seventh, which would be his grid position for the final.

He could go no further than 10th in the main final, but as Tim says Brian’s lap times are good, he just needs to work on consistency.
