Matt Mason
On his last Jr Max race as No. 8 he took a heat win and a 4th, which secured him pole for the final. He took an early lead but didn’t quite have the ultimate pace so ended up 3rd.

Lewis Turner
Lewis Turner claimed his first victory at a very overcast and wet PFI. Kartmasters was his 3rd meeting after a two and a half year retirement, and he finished 5th despite electrical problems. 3 months on he took the 177 grid by surprise when all weekend he was very fast, claiming all fastest laps throughout the day including the 3 lap warm-up.

A mechanical problem in the first heat caused a bad finish, but he still took the fastest lap. Starting 2nd for the second heat Lewis was determined to make up for lost ground and he stormed the heat, winning by a distance.

Starting 5th for the final, he wanted the win and battled through the pack until he reached David Griffiths. For 2 laps they battled intensely until Lewis made it stick at the second hairpin, from there he pulled away out in front and won be nearly 3 seconds, setting the fastest lap by 7 tenths of a second.

“I would like to thank Tim and Jason Parrott, my parents and everyone else in the team for their support, I would also like to thank Steve Ogden for the engines and JSR for the carburettors,” said Lewis

Team Manager Jason said:

I was very pleased with Lewis’s speed as it proved having fastest laps in all his races, but he just needs to calm down when overtaking.

With Matt I think he did all he could but I’m not sure if we had a bad set of wet tyres, because the kart and pressure was the same as Lewis’ and he was 7 tenths faster then anyone else!
