This is another circuit that Lewis hasn’t been to in about 3.5 years and it’s on the calender for the Super 1 Rotax this year. After starting the test day off very steady, at the end of the day Lewis could be as quick as the quickest, this proved well for the racing. The three laps practice was wet, and Lewis was the quickest despite only every driving it once before in the rain nearly 4 years ago.

However this was useless for qualifying even though now if was raining very hard. Lewis went out at the back of the grid and wanted to chase the pack, however on the second clocked lap as he was coming down the hill the steering wheel bolt snapped and he came down the hill backwards in a shower of spray from the tyres, and this ended qualifying for Lewis. He said afterwards “That was fun… wouldn’t wanna do that in a hurry again though…”.

However despite only doing 2 laps Lewis was on the fifth row of the grid, and ready for the drying track. He finished fourth in the heat which meant he was starting fourth for the Prefinal, which again was won by Lucas Orrock but Lewis was on his way forward, finishing 2nd while catching Orrock.

At the start of the Final Lewis jumped Orrock into the first corner despite being on the outside, he led the race for a few laps then Orrock found a way past and made it stick. Lewis followed him, but was more worried about consolidating the 2nd than going for the win and losing it all.
