Tim Parrott Motorsport has now been announced as the CRG race team for the UK, taking over the role from the importers of the CRG kart, HRS.

HRS will continue to provide technical assistance to non-race team customers and look after the general interests of CRG, and Nigel Horner from HRS will also continue to tune Rotax engines from their workshop in South Shields.

M & P, Europe’s largest motorcycle parts and accessories company, will market and sell the CRG karts and spares from Swansea, Wales and online, which will make it much easier for customers to buy spares.

Tim Parrott Motorsport has brought the CRG truck from HRS and will operate the team from it in the Super One, Euromax, 0 Plate, GP plate and selected club races thoughout the year.

Tim Parrott Motorsport’s first race weekend as the CRG race team was a successful one, taking a win in Senior Rotax with Matt Mason, and also the fastest lap in the Junior catergory with Charlie Streather.

Jason Parrott, team manager of Tim Parrott Motorsport, said “It was a great first weekend for the team and the new drivers, Matt Mason drove a great race and won in Seniors, in Juniors Charlie Streather showed his natural speed when he took the win in Heat 1 but unfortunately got too impatient in Heat 2 and made a costly mistake, and even though he crashed in the final he yet again showed he was capable of doing a fast time. Also in Juniors was Dom Wheatley, who had an unfortunate weekend and found himself in the B final, where again he was involved in a crash which demoted him to last but he made a strong recovery. Dom will be a good driver, it is just a case of finding the time when it all comes together.”

“On the whole it was a very good weekend, even though we only had one win I was extremely impressed by the speed of the kart and I am looking forward to the next race, which is the Winter Cup in Malaga, Spain.”
